Frequently asked questions
How is the percentage for each word calculated?
The percentage shows how often a word appears relative to the total number of counted words, so a word at 5% makes up one in twenty of the words in your text.
Can I ignore common words like 'the' and 'a'?
Yes. Toggle Common Words Excluded to filter out frequent stop words such as the, a, and, and of, which keeps the results focused on the meaningful keywords in your text.
What does the Minimum Word Length setting do?
It hides any word shorter than the length you set, so you can drop short filler words and concentrate on substantial terms when analyzing keyword density.
Does it count words case-sensitively?
No. Words are tallied case-insensitively, so Apple and apple are grouped together as the same word in the frequency results.
Is my text uploaded for analysis?
No. The entire word-frequency analysis runs in your browser and your text is never sent to a server. The tool is free and needs no registration.
