Frequently asked questions
How does the decision maker choose an option?
It picks one of your entered options at random, giving every option an equal chance, which removes bias and helps break ties or deadlocks.
How many options do I need to enter?
You need at least two options, with each one on a separate line. There is no strict upper limit, so you can add as many choices as you want to decide between.
Are blank lines counted as options?
No. Empty or whitespace-only lines are ignored, so only your real, non-empty choices are included in the random selection.
Does every option have an equal chance of being picked?
Yes. The selection is uniformly random, so no option is favored and the result is genuinely unbiased each time you decide.
Is this tool free and private?
Yes. It is free with no account required, and the random choice is made in your browser, so the options you type are never sent to a server.
